Featured Wedding - Rouge Violet

Purple is officially en vogue this year!

2011 is going to be full of Violet, Lilac, Heather and Plum! With a number of Timeless White Brides-to-be selecting purple as their theme colour of choice, I have been considering how we can do something that will make the theme stand out...and I felt this risque colour combination really made an impact.

Lilac and Poppy Red is a candy sweet way of making a Purple theme stand out this year
The Dress

This year, sultry dresses are definately in. Something with a high-fashion look, miles from what your guests might be expecting to see you in will be sure to set the aisle alight. If there's anyone who knows how to design dresses with elegance and flare, it's celebrity designer Jenny Packham. "Amata" has got everything the Lilac and Poppy Red theme needs to fit right in with the stand-out colours, there's sufficient sparkle, sheen and glamour to tie in beautifully with the modern twist. Jenny Packham gowns are stocked at Cuco Couture in Ayrshire, Perfect Bridal Rooms of Aberdeen, Pan Pan in Edinburgh and Anne Priscilla in Glasgow.

We also adore this lace and charmeuse gown from the 2011 Collection by Enzoani, the shimmer of the charmeuse will hugely compliment a Lilac and Red bouquet and will have you feeling a million dollars at the altar. Enzoani gowns are stocked at a number of boutiques across the country, including Avorio Bridal in Fochabers, Emma Roy of Edinburgh and Anne Priscilla in Glasgow.

 The Details

Hire in some gorgeous silver chiavari chairs to your Reception (And your Ceremony if your venue allows!), use pale white or cream seat pads and have a luxurious purple sash tied around the back of each one. Silver chiavari chairs, including seat pads will set you back approximately £250 for 100 from John Brown cater hire but will make a huge impact on the colourings at your reception.

Chiavari chairs will give you an extra way to incorporate your colours
Keep your venue light by using white tablecloths and incorporate lilacs and reds into your table centrepieces. What's beautiful about this theme is that you can use so many varieties of flowers - Roses, Heather, Hydrangea, Tulips, Poppys and the most sumptious vanda orchids can all make an appearance in your bouquet. Silver charger plates adorned with soft lilac napkins will help to keep your theme looking soft but neat. Adorn the centre of the table with Red tealight holders, available from M&S to give soft and subtle red glow.

Lilac and Silver will give your theme a pastel hue
For favours, include flashes of red by giving a charitable and meaningful gift of a lapel poppy. Using a hole punch, make a small hole in the top corner of each place card and insert a poppy into each. Not only do these make affordable favours, but they support a fabulous cause. You can purchase 50 Poppy lapel pins for £36 from the Poppy Shop

Red tealight holders will give a soft glow of red come evening
That's all for the TW Rouge Violet featured Wedding theme, as always if you'd like some advice on how you can re-create this, please do call or email! We love to hear from you all!

Looking Truly flawless on your big day

Looking your absolute best on your big day is without doubt something that every Bride to be aspires to from the moment she says "I will!" and TW are glad to announce the launch of Truly Flawless Make-Up and Beauty. Based in the Aberdeen area of Scotland, Truly Flawless is ran by one of the Brides whose Wedding pictures feature on our Website and in our brochure!

We know that owners Kimberely and Lynsey are bound for Bridal Make-Up stardom and took some time to catch up with them about what Truly Flawless offers and the sentiments behind launching the business...Here is what they said...

TW: What inspired you to set up Truly Flawless?
Kimberley: At my own wedding, my make-up artist was extremely accommodating & made me feel amazing. This inspired me to become a make-up artist to help other brides feel as good as I did on my wedding day.

Lynsey: Personally I have always loved the ability that make-up has to transform my look and make me feel great. Becoming a make-up artist means that I can share my passion for make-up with others.

Kimberley & Lynsey: Our shared passion for make-up and wanting to provide a professional service brought us together. This was the beginning of Truly Flawless.

TW: What services do you provide?
Kimberley & Lynsey: We offer a range of professional make-up services. Although we specialise in Wedding make-up, we also offer make-up for special occasions, parties & photoshoots.

TW: What is the most popular Bridal look you're asked for?
Kimberley & Lynsey: We find that the most popular look that a bride will ask for will be a natural beauty look. However, each Bride is unique and has their own individual needs & requirements - our job is to meet those to ensure the Bride is completely happy with their look on their special day.

TW: What do you think makes a truly beautiful bride?
Kimberley & Lynsey: Every bride is truly beautiful in their own way. Our goal is to enhane their natural beauty and provide a look that not only makes a bride feel special, but also comfortable on their wedding day.

TW: What are your top tips for brides doing their make-up themselves?
Kimberley & Lynsey: Our top tips at Truly Flawless are for brides to drink plenty of water to hydrate their skin, select a base foundation that is not only the correct one for their skin type, but the right colour to blend into their skin and to avoid foundation lines. Also to be careful when selecting colour types etc so as not to contracts with Wedding colours or themes.

Bridal make-up services at Truly Flawless are priced very reasonably, at just £30 for Bridal make-up on the day at your home or on location, £18 for a trial and £20 per additional Bridesmaid.

Kimberley and Lynsey are both friendly and bubbly girls who will do everything they can to ensure you are entirely happy with the results. So, if you are being married in the Aberdeenshire area and are still searching for someone to provide make-up services on your day, Truly Flawless are without doubt the flawless choice.

A Timeless White Christmas

We wish you a Merry Christmas, We wish you a Merry Christmas!

Today's post is a little off the topic of Weddings, and is a little more focused on the Timeless White christmas theme this year! Though, I have no doubt you will find something useful that could be used as decorative pieces at your Wedding. Infact, that is one tip we often tell our Brides, that Christmas time is actually a very opportunistic period to pick up some gorgeous deocrations and some fantastic Wine bargains!

So, here's how the Timeless White Christmas is beginning to look this year....

A Timeless White Christmas

Vintage Christmas is very much a hot trend this festive Season, with even Harrods re-releasing Vintage Christmas cards from their 1900's ranges, we have some gorgeous 1950 cards on order, you can see the entire vintage range at Harrods online, here. Other cards that we will be posting out this year include Ling Design Charity Cards with a gorgeous picture of Santa Claus enjoying relaxing by the fireplace (£3.95 for 10 from Dobbies Garden Centres) and a lovely cheerful pick of St Nicholas from one of many ranges at Asda (£2 for 20 or 3 packs for £5).

The Timeless White Christmas Post
At Timeless White, even at Christmas we simply cannot exclude Flowers from our Decoration, and this year our imagination was captured by these unbelievably gorgeous clip on Flowers at Dobbies, available in a range of colours (£1.99 each). These are especially good buys as they can easily double up for a Wedding, used to decorate your Chair bows or Napkins. We have also used some simple Frosting decoartions which could also be used as Napkin or Chair Bow decorations, or you could even decorate a Wishing Tree with these! (3 for £3 at Asda).

Tree Decorations can easily be used at your Wedding
Our tree is beginning to get busy underneath with all of our Presents for our loved ones this year and we have decided to continue with the Vintage theme with our wrapping. Old-fashioned wrapped presents sit so well under a tree, there's something really lovely about receiving a gift that looks really wintry and like something that's been delivered straight from Santa's factory! So we used Brown Paper from John Lewis, a variety of Tartan ribbons from HobbyCraft, Marks and Spencer Wrapping paper (Which is year-on-year our favourite paper retailter!)  and some Red & Silver foil to bundle smaller gifts into. And, on passing, we simply couldn't resist a gorgeous gold sparkly gift box, complimented with a lovely twinkling bow from TK Maxx. available in Red too (£2.99 each).

Vintage Christmas Wrapping
We hope that you have found this post a good read, and leave feeling filled with ideas for themeing your Christmas, or even your Wedding! Think how beautiful those Flowers would be clipped onto a Gold ribbon around your guests napkins on their places, or how delicate touches of tartan could be added to your day by using Ribbon to wrap your bouquets stems in or on your Table Plan....

Wishing all our readers a very Merry Christmas and lots of love, luck and happiness (And beautiful Weddings if yours is planned!) in 2011.
